Today happens to be Good Friday. I was compelled to write about the first wave of JS Lifestyle today, because what an opportune time to do so.

JS Lifestyle is composed of 5 waves-Spirituality, Wellness, Style, Community and Home. The number 5 is significant for many reasons in my life, but I will explain that further down the road.

When I was thinking about how I wanted to use social media to help others, connect with like minded individuals, and really share authentically who I am…I realized, I am not me, without God. How could I put myself out there and not share the most profound love I have as a content creator?

As someone who is trying to help others with eating better, moving their bodies more, encouraging them to check out the latest outfit trend, and then never mention my absolutely number one favorite? Not even possible.

Frankly, there is no JS Lifestyle, or Jen Smith separate from my beliefs as a Christian.

This actually revealed some deeper questions and resulted in me going over the tipping point. The no go zone. Yep, putting it out there that I am a believer, and proud to be one. This can be a real no no in the social media world. Don’t share too much, don’t talk about controversial subjects. Say what? How could I try to show up authentically without actually talking about my relationship with God. I’m used to breaking societal norms and rules though. Therefore–

I can’t. I won’t. Not happening.

The very crux of living a lifestyle that I feel is fulfilling, peacefilled, and full of contentment is living a life with God in it. God guides me, I depend on Him, He never disappoints me, and He loves me as I am. I could make a million mistakes, and yes, I have made many, and it is amazing to me that He STILL won’t turn His back on me. Loyalty at the utmost. Wow!

Thus, the first wave of this lifestyle brand is Spirituality. I could have used Christianity, but instead I wanted to contain the word spirit for many reasons. The Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit working inside of me, and yes God has created me as a spirited individual too.

I absolutely cannot fathom how people live without God in their lives. I try to be an understanding and empathetic person, but I struggle to comprehend how anyone goes through the trials and tribulations of life, without God in their corner. How does one think they can solve the worldly problems themselves, or even the problems they may be faced with in their relationships, home, as parents, and life in general?

I don’t know. I can’t imagine that type of life, and I feel full of comfort and safety knowing that I don’t have to do it alone.

I will scream it from the rooftops, (but instead will use this brand and media content to share) that I believe the best well life, is one where Jesus is the founding anchor, upon which every other wellness choice is built upon. It’s Him, the brick and mortar of my being. Nothing can be built upon, grown, expanded, with any type of success, without a strong foundation. For JS Lifestyle, this is a relationship with Christ. He is the anchor of my 5 waves.

I realize this will turn some away, that’s completely fine with me. I understand I may lose followers, or not appeal to a bunch of “likes” or even people who want to engage with me JUST because I am speaking openly about religion.

So be it friends. What God thinks of me is far more important to me than what the followers, friends, acquaintances, or even customers think of me.

It is because of Him, I am able to take this blind leap of faith to start this brand/business. I am trusting in Him, that he’s got me, and will help me figure this out. He has already!

Here’s the real talk now. No amount of stuff–outfits, makeup, hair, home decor, supplements, inspirational memes, workouts, nutrition, and all the things that you think are going to fill you up inside, will ever be enough. They won’t, and it will never make you feel whole. There is only one thing that truly fulfills.

Yes, I am evangelizing a bit. Ha! Add that to the resume. But the Wave of Sprituality is my anchor. My guiding light. My heavy. My resource of love and life.

JS Lifestyle is founded upon this wave, and make no mistake, I deeply care what God thinks about me.

The question now, is do you?

Do you have a relationship with Christ?

Does your life seems out of control, unmanageable, filled with stress and hopelessness. He sees you and is calling for you. Working out for hours on end, will never get you emotionally and spiritually “fit.” I’ve seen people go down that rabbit hole. We are never defined by our worldy successes in life.

The real wellness and fitness PR (personal record) is accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior. Winning!

Jen

PS: I am linking a bible that my teenage sons really like. It’s easy to understand, relatable to situations they may be faced with, and we need more youth who are turning to God and trusting in Him.https://amzn.to/42shOsI

  1. I too, ride this particular wave. If I didn’t have a higher power to have faith in, I’m not sure where my checks and balances would lead me. Having Him gives me peace of mind.

    1. Thank you for sharing Michelle! I’m glad you also have this foundational wave in your life. Happy Easter friend!

  2. Thank you for sharing the most important foundation of your life. I look forward to reading more of your lifestyle posts.
